Getting Your Life Organized
Get rid of things and organize:
Clutter is stressful. Work on making your home your haven free from stress! Donate or throw away anything you don’t use regularly. Make sure that everything you keep has its particular home, and always put things away as soon as you are done with them. Stay out of stores if you find you buy things you can’t afford or don’t need. These tips will help you eliminate clutter, and will make cleaning much faster and easier.
Keep your goals realistic and manageable:
When you are working on changing behavior, it’s important to set realistic goals and to acknowledge the progress that you are making. Break your goals down into small manageable chunks. A great way to do this is to set a timer for 10 or 15 minutes and see how much cleaning you can accomplish, or spend that time cleaning out a drawer. Much can be accomplished in a short period of time!
Make your home your haven:
Spend a little time cleaning your home every day. That way, the job never becomes overwhelming. Pick a time each day when you walk around the house putting everything in its place. When you come home from work, light some candles and play some soothing music! Creating a calming environment in your home goes a long way toward lowering your levels of stress.
